How to play
Seven prompts a day, the same for everyone. You get 25 seconds to type one answer to each. The rarer the answer, the higher you climb Mount Fuji.
Points and ranks
- 🟫 Common · +42 m · Everyone took this path. Queue at the gate.
- 🟨 Familiar · +63 m · Felt clever. The whole dojo thought of it too.
- 🟩 Uncommon · +125 m · Solid. Still walking with the group.
- 🟦 Rare · +251 m · You left the group and walked alone.
- 🟪 Very rare · +355 m · Few come this far.
- 🟥 Gem · +418 m · The answer the master would give.
A wrong answer costs nothing but time. If the clock runs out, you do not climb on that prompt. The climb starts at the Sengen shrine, 850 m, and the summit is at 3,776 m.
- Tourist · 850 m · Umagaeshi, where the horses turn back
- Apprentice · 1,481 m · the forest below the 3rd station
- Disciple · 1,899 m · the 5th station, where the buses stop
- Samurai · 2,317 m · the 7th station, above the trees
- Sensei · 2,731 m · the 8th station huts
- Master · 3,358 m · past the 8th station, the summit in sight
- Goraikō · 3,776 m · Kengamine. The sun rises.
Where the answers come from
Each prompt has a closed list of accepted answers built from open sources (Wikidata, Wikipedia and public lists). Each answer’s rarity is computed from how familiar it is in those sources and fixed before the day starts, so everyone plays by the same ruler. Afterwards, what players actually answered corrects that ruler for the archive. No AI decides anything here.
