The short version
Your results are saved in your own browser. There is no account, no login and no profile. The daily climb, Nobori, sends its answers to us under a random ID your browser makes up, so everyone can see how rare each answer was. That ID is not your name, your email or your address, and climbs are deleted after 14 days. Clear your browser’s site data and the ID, with everything stored on your device, is gone.
What is stored in your browser
Local storage holds your test results, your personal bests, your streak, your theme choice and the refresh rate we measured for your display. For Nobori it also holds your climbs, your streak and settings, and the random ID described below. None of it leaves your device except as described in the next section, and you can export or delete all of it from your results page.
What is sent to us
When you complete a test, we may record the test name, the variant, your device type (mouse, touch, keyboard or pen) and the score, so that percentiles reflect real people. That record carries no identifier: it cannot be linked back to you, to your other results, or to your browser.
We do not record what you type. The typing test compares your keystrokes against the target text in your browser and sends only the resulting speed and accuracy.
Nobori, the daily climb
When you finish a daily climb, we store:
- the day, the language, your seven answers and how long each took;
- a random ID your browser created the first time you played, so the same climb is not counted twice;
- the country your connection comes from, as a two-letter code;
- a scrambled fingerprint of your network address, changed every day and used only to allow at most 20 climbs per address per day. The address itself is never stored.
Climbs are deleted after 14 days. What stays is the count of how many people chose each answer on each day, with no ID attached. A rating or an idea you send from the results page is kept with the same random ID until it has been read. Archive climbs are never sent.
Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without building a profile of you. It does not follow you to other sites.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them. Since no personal information is collected from anyone, there is nothing held about a child either.
Your rights
Nothing here is linked to your identity. The delete button is your browser’s own: clearing site data removes everything on your device and the random ID with it, and the climbs sent to us expire after 14 days. If you have a question or a request anyway, write to contactrundev@gmail.com and it will be answered within 30 days.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected, the date at the top of this page changes with it and the change is described here.
